Cozy cottage with a great view of Hodnekilen, which is on the Otra River.
The cottage is located about 6 meters from the water and has a sunny location and a terrace with garden furniture. Shallow swimming area right in front of the cottage.

Cottage is well suited for a family of 4-6 people. Cottage is about 50 m2 and contains 1 bedroom with family bunk bed and small sofa bed and 1 bedroom with double bed, a total of 4-6 beds.
Kitchen is equipped with most things you need for self-catering.
Stove and small refrigerator work with gas. Wood stove is used for heating and is in the living room.
The sofa in the living room can easily be made into an extra double bed.
The cottage does not have mains electricity, but the solar system provides you with electricity for lights and you can also charge your mobile phone or tablet. Charging works with a mains phone charging cable, bring your own USB cable.
TV in the cottage works with 12 volts.
It has the Canal Digital family package.
Biological compost toilet outside.

The cabin also has a rowboat in the summer. The boat is used at your own risk, bring your own safety equipment so you have the right size. The barrel sauna and hot tub at the cabin work with wood. The hot tub is closed in winter but the barrel sauna can be used all year round.
The cabin does not have running water / shower but the sauna has a water tank that must be filled with water from the river and when the sauna stove is heated, the water in the tank heats up so it is easy to wash yourself by mixing cold and hot water into the sauna and pouring the water over you. The water is collected from the river (Hodnekilen). Drinking water is brought with you.
The sauna is really relaxing. Recommended!
The hot tub costs extra: You have to fill up water with a water pump from the river and fire up the stove in the stove yourself. It takes about 1 hour to fill up the stove and 5-6 hours to get the stove hot and about 5-6 bags of wood. The stove costs 550 NOK per heating in summer, 800 NOK in spring / autumn. The price includes 5 sacks of firewood in summer / autumn 6 sacks. NOTE: The stove is closed in the winter period 15.10 - 30.4 .
If you want to buy more firewood, then 1 sack costs 110 NOK / 60 l sack. Paid for in the autumn.
It is not possible to bring your own firewood because shipping is difficult. We do not want to have firewood on the rowboat and often many people bring wet firewood. All firewood must be purchased from the cabin.

If you want us to fill the stove in advance and take a starting fire, it costs 1200 NOK. extra.

The cabin is rented to law enforcement officers who are used to such nature / forest cabins. Families and 1-2 quiet, adult couples. NOT young people and not groups.

The owner has 2 cabins in the same area. About 100 m. From each other. There is a separate barrel sauna built at both cabins. The sandy beach and the piers are shared between the cabins. Those from other cabins are allowed to go to the pier and swim at the bathing beach

To get to the cabin, you can choose whether to take a rowboat across Hodnekilen (takes about 4 minutes to row across) or whether to walk via the forest path about ***** m. In winter you have to walk.
Approx. 8 km. to Evje, here you will find shops, restaurants etc.
Mineral park, go kart, rafting, climbing forest are some of the things we want to mention. Take a trip to Kilefjord camping approx. 1.5 km from the cabin, here you can buy fishing licenses, fishing equipment, ice cream, street food etc.

Note!
-There may be some traffic noise from the road that runs on the other side of the water. If you can overlook it, it is a nice place to be otherwise.
- The sandy beach and the piers are used by both cabins.

Behave properly and respect other people's property.
- Do not damage anything. Do not smoke inside the cabin,

In Scandinavia (Norway), the standard of the cabins is often different. Many of the cabins have no power, some may have solar power. (Solar power is not normal power) Many of the cabins have no water, no shower. Toilet conditions vary-some use sawdust, some bark (no water), biological toilet can cause odor! The cabins do not have bed linen, towels because of long distances and it is very expensive to use laundry (Laundry is only in the towns). You also have to clean the cabin after use (dishes, floors, tidy up, (fridge, shower in the cabins that have it) Normal wash that the next guest can move in. In many of the cabins you have to bring your own towels, bed linen, drinking water, candles, maybe woods to fireplace).
