Cozy cabin by Hodnekilen (Otra river)
The cabin has 1 bedroom with a family bunk bed and a small sofa bed and 1 bedroom with a double bed, a total of 4-6 beds.
The kitchen is equipped with most of the household items you need.
The stove and small fridge work with gas. A wood-burning stove heats the cabin and is in the living room.
The sofa in the living room can easily be made into an extra double bed.
The cabin does not have electricity, but the solar system gives you power for lighting and you can also charge your mobile phone or tablet. Charging works with a water-based phone charging cable, bring your own.
Lovely sunny terrace in front of the cabin which gives you a nice view of Hodnekilen. The cabin is about 6 meters from the water and has a sunny position.

The cabin also has a rowing boat in summer. The boat is used at your own risk, bring safety equipment yourself so you have the right size. The barrel sauna and the hot tub at the cabin work with wood.
The cabin does not have running water, but the sauna has a water tank that gets hot when you fire up the sauna, so it is easy to wash yourself by mixing cold and hot water into the sauna. The service water is taken from the wedge. Bring drinking water.
The sauna is really relaxing. Recommended!
Hot tub: You must fill up water with a water pump from Kilen and fire up the hot tub yourself. It takes about 1 hour to fill up the stomp and 5-6 hours to get the stomp hot and about 5-6 sacks of wood. Stamp costs NOK 600. Then you get 6 sacks of firewood.
In winter, it takes longer to fill up and heat up, about 8 hours and 8 sacks of wood.
If you want to buy more firewood, 1 bag costs NOK 100. Payable to the host.
It is not possible to bring your own firewood.
All firewood must be bought from the cabin.

A weekend in the winter with stomping and sauna uses about 9 sacks of firewood.

If you want us to fill up the stamp in advance and take a start firing, it costs NOK 1,000. in extra.
in winter (*****) we must have a weather reservation. Doesn't matter how cold it is.
below -7 C is ok.

The cabin is rented out to religious people who are used to such nature/forest cabins. Families and 1-2 quiet, adult couples. NOT youths.

The owner has 2 cabins in the same area. About 100 m. apart. A separate barrel sauna has been built in both cabins. The sandy beach and the piers are shared between the cabins. Those from other cabins are allowed to go to the jetty and swim on the beach


To get to the cabin, you can choose whether you want to take a rowing boat over the Hodnekilen (takes about 4 minutes to row over) or whether you want to walk via the forest path about ***** m. In winter you have to walk.
About. 8 km. to Evje, here you will find shops, eateries etc.
Mineral park, go-karting, rafting, the climbing forest are some we would like to name. Take a trip to Kilefjord camping approx. 1.5 km from the cabin, here they sell fishing licences, fishing equipment, ice cream, fast food etc.

- There may be some traffic noise from the road that runs on the other side of the water. if you can overlook that then it's a nice place to be otherwise.
- Sandy beach and the piers are used by both cabins.

Otherwise, it is about 250 m to walk to the cabin.
No dogs/cats due to allergies

Behave properly and respect other people's property.
- Don't destroy anything. Do not smoke inside the cabin,
-Bring bed linen, towel, toilet paper, candles. Firewood is in the cabin.
- Bring drinking water
- Wash the cabin well after use

- Only rented to religious families who are used to such nature/forest cabins. Only families and 1-2 quiet, adult couples over the age of 23. Not young people / party.
